Beautiful fairy

Hey there! How the heck have you been? I sure hope your holidays were stupendous. Mine was really great. So it took a bit to get back into the groove of blogging but I am back and have lots to talk about and post and goals to share. Hope you'll stick around to see what's new.

Isn't this image from the greeting farm absolutely amazing????
I didn't think I was going to be able to color her the way I thought she should be but can I just say
OH YEAH! I am thrilled with the colors I chose and my coloring. I must be honest and say I still don't have a clue how to shade or color blend...and I know I definitely need some new colors in my stash of copics, but I am getting there. Kind of made me think of Spring eh? Super cheery, happy and of course super sexy...grrrrr {wink}
Have you started thinking about your goals for the new year yet?
I sure have and can't wait to share them with you.
we'll talk soon
love...me

Cooking spa-foo

Had a serious baking bit today - actually started at 10 a.m. and just finished at 4 p.m. Not much in the way of color eh? I made chocolate chip, lemon tea cookies, peanut butter and gingerbread men and houses...Whew...all to give away of course...can I just say that today didn't occur without some major mishaps...like adding more sugar than required, like dropping 1/2 the cookie dough on the floor and having to make more but the biggest mishap was this...

Can you believe that I burned 1 dozen cookies - I think my oven is off. you know too hot when it's at a lower heat...anyway all in all a very productive day - now we are preparing for our first Christmas - my kids are fortunate to have 3 different times to open presents...yeah when you have 4 different sets of parents you have to have more gatherings...anyway I made these cards last year for my family and thought I would share them with you...

I sure hope your Christmas celebrations are going great and that Santa brings you everything your heart desires....

Christmas card re-do

Last year I made these cards here - and while I love everything about them, the colors, the image and the bow - I realized that it needed more like a sentiment for one.
So I pulled these out and re-worked them a bit and here is what came out:

I added some pearls to frosty's chest for buttons, added the sentiment to the left side and some stamped snowflakes in white as well.
It's Cool the way you can change the look of a card so easily with just a few more embellishments...I still believe plain is good but sassing up a card is even better.
I just got the last of my Christmas cards in the mail this morning and now I am done. Just have some wrapping to do and I believe - Christmas eve I will actually be able to sit and wait for Santa to do his thing instead of staying up way too late doing last minute things...yeah for me!

Thanks You Martha

I was looking for a quick and useful gift for the Mother-In laws and well looky what I found in the martha Stewart section of my discount store...shh in case they are reading...These are thank you cards that come with everything needed to make 4 cards plus lots of extras.
Aren't these the sweetest things ever? These cards remind me of something my grandma would have had in her stash but with an updated twist. The insides are made of honeycomb tissue fruits. Then you add you sentiment...Anyway - I tied these up with a big yummy aqua ribbon and wah-lah - finished. I think they will love them...

How are your gift ideas coming? Hopefully you are almost done. Nothing like waiting till the last minute eh? Makes for some mad rushing and excitement. Enjoy yourself.

FlutterBy Wednesday #88

I am feeling a bit unsettled. Like my life is UPSIDE DOWN...and I can't turn it right side up. I am consumed by so many other things right now---I can't breathe and I am dizzy. I am finding NO time to "create" which you know is a must to feel sane at times.
But I love participating in Danni's weekly challenges and as late as it is...I just had to play...this is challenge #88 and it is a sketch challenge.
I didn't follow the sketch exactly but I didn't want to add too much because it is for "expecting parents" and it's too early to know what it is...so I figured the buttons were neutral enough and no flowers or ribbon - in case it's a boy...just real basic and simple.
Don't forget to visit the DT and see their amazing creations and if you are up to it - try playing yourself. Believe me - playing with paper, stamps and ink is a real pick me up.
I feel better already,
Sleep well my friends.

Birthday Card for the Birthday Girl

Do you remember the days when birthday parties were a big event but not alot of effort was put into them and they still turned out fantastic. As a kid, a sleep over with some games and late night ghost stories were the talk at school the following week. Nowadays, there is planning, invitations, a theme, party favors and entertainment...gasp!!!! Include the money for the food, the presents you buy and the headache - well it makes for some silliness.
This year was different. We planned it simple...no jumper, no store bought games...they played tether ball in the backyard, played bingo, jumped for candy, sang Happy Birthday then opened gifts...all within the 2 hour time frame we had scheduled...whew...
She was super happy with the few friends that showed up and all the gifts she was given...and my card; well she thought that was pretty cool too.
All in all - simple and relaxed is way better.
They only care that you made the time and celebrated THEm!
Happy times.

Winter FlutterBy

So I made this card for FlutterBy Wednesday (yesterday) and the theme was Winter. Lucky for me - over on Three Clover Designs the challenge is to use Blue White and Silver. What do you think? Works eh? The only thing I would change is the Butterfly...maybe not red.
I added some mini pearls to Frosty's hat and some stickels to the scarf and butterfly.
Well, I just finished some custom orders and wouldn't you know it I didn't take any photos - duh?

I have some more albums to share with you that I am planning on listing in my Etsy shop.
Hope your life is moving smoothly...

Quick candy treat bag

I needed some quick treat bags for some friends and decided to make these up really quick.
The bags are from stampin up! I used my jumbo punches and a $1 dollar stamps from Michael's for the center...Cute and real quick.
I am working on my Mojo Monday contest challenge submission. I want it to really dazzle the judges.
P.s. the candies are from the dollar spot at Target - so you get about 3 treats per 1 bag of candies shhh
COol huh?

Love Love Love is everywhere

I just had to show you this cute little book I made from some left over scraps of chipboard. Super easy and such a sweet and thoughtful gift. I used yummy basic grey papers and some number stickers and kept it really simple.

All you need to do is add a photo of your sweety (small photo) and then either write with sharpie (nope won't go through the other side) or use stickers to tell why you love that person so much.
Neat eh? I am listing this in my etsy shop later today.
And yup - Isn't this a face you could just love all over the place. Wearing his sisters headband. Nice!

So all my crazy shows for the month are over - now it's time to play and make some goodies just for the pure fun of it.
I'll be back to add my mojo Monday sketch later today!

wee willy GIFT CARDS

These are a very tiny set of gift cards that I made using seriously all scraps...the paper is DCWV and the embossed star is from Prima and that embossed chipboard star can't remember oh but they are too cute...Anyway, I try to do things that are different at times but I get frustrated in the amount of time it takes to get to the finished point. Does that ever happen to you? I have to say that making up my own sketches is not something I am good at. I hope to get to that point someday...I would be thrilled to be able to host a scrapbooking layout challenge one day.
Oop - I do believe that there is my first NEW YEARS RESOLUTION.
well, I have another show tomorrow and hopefully I will kick butt - keep those pretty inky fingers crossed for me.
good nite...

Flutter By Wednesday a day late

This weeks challenge over at flutter by Wednesday was a freebie. So here is my submission this week. I used a vintage style background stamp WITH butterflies among other things on it...again going for the vintage look - love that look - my sentiment is stamped on the left side of the card and reads "LET'S KEEP IN TOUCH"
reminded me of a bon voyage or miss you card...I like it...
Don't forget to visit the blog and see what all the other ladies made this week. Always lots of eye candy.
So literally as I type right now we are having carpet installed - poor guy is still here and looks like there is lots still to do. Gosh I hope not. We are tired and cramped in 2 rooms with t.v. access only - the kids are going nutty (me too.) I am super thrilled with our carpet but I just wish it was a quick process - I am sure SAL is thinking the same thing right about now.
Well, sleep well and comfortably.
I'll try and do the same

Welcome Rudy Reindeer

Good afternoon, Wanted to introduce you to the cutest little reindeer I found - I call him Rudy - isn't he just too sweet. I found him in the dollar section at Micheal's - the sentiments are from a set by fiskars...and just used bits of scraps from basic grey to make the base.
So I made this yesterday but I got hit with a serious dose of Montezuma revenge last night. I made a boo-boo and had 2 coffees from Starbucks yesterday and well by the end of the night my stomach said yeah right and made me pay - icky!!! so I went o bed early and just crashed.
Does that ever happen to you? You just know there is something you shouldn't eat or drink and you do anyway...and pay the price later. Well, that was the last time no more 2 times day for me. Besides, that coffee is tasty but NOT cheap...so it'll be easy on my pocket book too...oh well.
Lesson learned.
Hope you like Rudy...simple and cute but not costly...great eh?
talk soon
